LINKS: My Favorites At Work
As a little bit of a maximalist, and definitely a materialist when it comes to Aesthetic things, my office at work is shaping up to be one of my favorite places. I have never had my own office at work, and, with Sensory Processing Disorder, the quiet and privacy mean a lot to me.

Lilac + Sage - Periwinkle + Mint Interior Design Inspiration
It makes me so happy that we are still celebrating purple in our color of the month this month! Any purple in green combination is also a tricky combination, especially for an interior designer like me.
Let's dive into the unique and not-often-used tones of lilac and periwinkle paired with fresh mint and calming sage.
On a side note, recently I've been playing with Spoak to keep my creative juices flowing and interior design feeling fresh. Finding inspiration is a huge part of being an interior designer! I played with this combination of lovely and unique colors, combining lilac and sage green. Balancing the color scheme, while using warm oak and other natural tones to help ground the space, and sculptural forms to add a beautiful and expensive, chic look.
Now both of these colors can definitely hold their own in a single design, so designing with both can definitely be a challenge. It's even harder to find reference and inspiring images, so create your own and design boldly! I love this bold combination of daring colors and the emotion they can evoke.
Pillows of the Week #8: Cozy Periwinkle
Still inspired by the Pantone color of the year! A relaxed pillow design, with tons of texture, and tonal periwinkle mixed with warm neutrals for interest and grounding.

Monthly Mantras - July: Freebie phone wallpaper
Recently, I have been learning (through therapy, and experience alike) to start make friends with my inner world. Iβve never known the experience before of having a conversation with myself and it has been seriously valuable.
So, in July this month, I am using these two mantras in my inner work to focus on developing that listening inner atmosphere.

Welcome to Aesthete Workshop π
My passions are expanding - and therefore my blog is expanding as well! This is a joining of two worlds: my love for design - interior design specifically - and my love of art and how it's developed through my little Etsy shop of the same name. My existing interior design specific posts are still around, and I will most definitely still write more! I just want to bring more of me into this space. More sharing, more learning, more of my personal journey, both heart and art alike.
I am growing, learning, and developing every day - emotionally, as a mom, as an interior designer, as an artist - and I want to share it, and hear about your development too.

Starting your art journey, even with a smaller budget
First, you have to fall in love.
The hardest part of my job as an interior designer is artwork (also, wallpaper, which honestly is just a whole wall covered in art). I work closely with clients and address artwork as thoroughly and often as it takes, but sometimes at the end of the project, I encourage clients to take a look and find art for themselves.
A clean, rustic, eclectic space for a relaxed family
I was honored to put together two designs for a client who wanted a light, bright, and kid-friendly space. Their love of saddle-colored leather was the main starting point, with layers of texture and details that come in the form of plants and interesting artwork.
A Whole Room of Furniture a Little at a Time
I am often asked at my job - what is best way to choose when purchasing a whole room of furniture that can't be afforded right away. It certainly is an intimidating proposal, and with an open floor plan, a whole living room layout, dining room layout, and entry, that is a lot of expensive pieces to buy and it feels like you need them all at once. The secret is being intentional and asking yourself how you use each of your rooms and what you would actually use most. But don't forget that your home is the place that you live and love, and for me, work, so don't forget to find pieces and details that bring you joy every time you see them.
Winter Whites
Since I read the most in the winter, a cozy corner to turn pages and admire the snow out the window is a necessary addition for my intimate home spaces. The glowing white of the snow out the window and the soft sound of flipping pages bring add a different feel to winter.
Pillows of the Week #6
In parallel with the Autumn Blues that are inspiring me this week, these pillows bring in the season without stereotypical reds and yellows. Deep, mysterious, and atmospheric, deep blue can add beautiful layers to a neutral couch needing some autumn love. Especially if you like something a little more unique!
Fall Colors - Autumn Blues
Autumn is the season of warm sweaters, burning fires, and deep natural woods. Warm tones are found absolutely everywhere, and autumn leaves burn the colors of the sun. I love the fall! Since it is my favorite season, I go all out. I want my clients to feel the season as much as I do! Blue may feel like an unexpected color for autumn, but the deep sea of Autumn blue washes a space in encompassing color without feeling fully winter. Cozy materials, and natural accents add to the feeling with reminders of the warm tones you typically think of when autumn crosses your mind.
Combining Styles
Jason and I have probably the most different styles that we could possibly have. Jason would prefer a studio apartment penthouse with minimal furniture. He has a dark industrial aesthetic and likes simple materials, with natural accents, and like a little bit of lodge too! My favorite combination of colors of gray and gold, and I love feminine touches, vintage accents, and lots of architectural detail. At least we both prefer neutrals right...
Pillows of the Week #5
Here are some pastel pretties for you! I am hanging on to summer as long as I can, before I run full on into Autumn. For now, here are some pastel pillows for you, inspired by floral colors and modern artwork.
